One of the challenges in the sports industry is the sharing of best practices as each league tends to innovate within its own silo. To this end, the Professional Association of Athlete Development Specialists (PAADS) formed and coordinates a summit with high-level individuals from the NBA, NFL, MLB, PGA, LPGA, WTA, NRL, and many others partnering with folks from educational and consulting organizations to do just that.
SCI Founder, Joshua Gordon, has been a presenter on multiple occasions to share the latest best practices related to sports conflict management.
As with all speaking engagements, SCI spends time up front understanding who will be the attendees and arranges interviews with a sampling to better understand the specific concerns that are most relevant to their daily professional lives.
A number of folks gave clear feedback that destructive conflict and its costs have a strong negative impact and wanted specific interventions and models that they can immediately use with their athletes.
SCI presented several of it's models and provided overviews of how to use and to develop sustainable dispute systems that had been tried and tested with other clients.
