Mr. Brad Gordon earned a BA degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1984 and a JD degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Law in 1988. He was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Gordon has received extensive training in mediation, conciliation, and negotiation. He has over twenty years of experience in the dispute resolution field, including the development and implementation of a wide range of community, court, and private dispute resolution programs. He has personally provided mediation and conciliation services to resolve well over a thousand disputes. Mr. Gordon’s areas of concentration include but are not limited to the following: sports conflict, contract and commercial issues; housing, neighbor, and real estate issues; family issues; education based issues; large group disputes, and personal injury cases. Currently, he serves on the Berkshire Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee and he previously served on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Standing Committee on ADR. Mr. Gordon also served on the Massachusetts Attorney General Office’s Conflict Intervention Team, which is a program that helps resolve large group, school based disputes through mediation.
Mr. Gordon combines his deep conflict management background with similar depth as an athlete and coach. He has been a competitive and recreational runner since 1977, including a highly credentialed high school running career that included being All-League three times, All-Western Mass twice, All-State Team, Western Mass D-1 X-C Individual Champion, and Western Mass Indoor Mile Champion. Mr. Gordon served as Pittsfield High School’s head cross country and track distance coach, coached youth soccer, basketball, and baseball teams and worked as a running and fitness instructor for the Physical Education Department at the University of Massachusetts. He remains an avid student of sports – both inside and outside the lines.
Mr. Gordon currently lives in the Berkshires in Massachusetts with his wife and two sons.
