Dr. Don Murray is a pioneer in the field of leadership & organizational development. Dr. Murray believes leadership development can inspire and generate passion within organizations as well as sports teams. He was selected in 1980 to provide team building and other services with the coaches and players on the USA Olympic Men’s Volleyball team. After four years of work, this team moved from unranked in the world to winners of the Olympic Gold Medal at the LA Olympics in 1984. Don continues his work today with the USAV governing body and its director.
Dr. Murray’s clients range in size from Fortune 100 giants to local, mid-size firms. His relationships include work with three of the top five Most Admired companies in America in 2006, the third fastest growing company in Oregon, Walsh Construction, and five of the top 100 Best Places to Work in Oregon in 2006.
Dr. Murray facilitated Nike’s Strategic Planning and implemented LITE leadership training as sales grew from $1-12 Billion.
Dr. Murray’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon, and a B.A. from the University of Great Falls, His professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), and the Organization Development Network (ODN).
Dr. Murray brings a wealth of experience and innovation to his work with the Sports Conflict Institute (SCI).
